Topside - Our Summer Home
Welcome to Topside, John and Sharon Kerwick’s summer home in the Adirondack State Park of New York. It is located in the southern foothills one mile west of Route 30, the Adirondack Parkway. Robert Frothingham, author, lecturer and sportsman built the cabin and the main house in the 1920’s in the Arts and Craft Bungalow style. It was built as a summer camp. Both the main house and the cabin are rustically finished, with exposed framing and plenty of bead-board paneling. Both the house and the cabin feature some of the trophies from his adventures in the wild at the turn of the century.
Cabin Rental
The large one room cabin has a living area featuring a river boulder fireplace. Relax in the claw-foot tub, bake cookies in the 1940’s kitchen and enjoy the screened porch. It is five minutes from the Great Sacandaga Lake and the 200-year old Village of Northville where great dining is available. It is an easy drive to Saratoga Springs, Lake George and other area attractions.
The house and cabin are located on 6.5 acres, along with a 2 car garage. The house sits about 500 ft. back from the road. The cabin is situated about 100 feet away from the main house and in a position to provide some privacy.
The cabin is fully furnished and has a complete kitchen. The cabin is furnished with a queen size bed, a queen size convertible sofa, and a futon. The dining area contains a small table and a counter that seats four. We provide bed linens and towels. Heat is provided by the fireplace and a base heater in the bath. If additional heat is necessary, a kerosene heater is available.
Amenities provided for the cabin:
General: Fireplace, Firewood, TV, fans, linens, towels, soap, toilet paper.
Kitchen: Microwave, Coffee maker, electric range (vintage), refrigerator (vintage), pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, dish soap, towels, etc.
The cabin is non-smoking. No pets, please.
Because the house and cabin are truly a summer camp, the cabin is available June through September for $700.00 a week.
